Concrete pumps and concrete pumping across the North East

Bailey Concrete Pumping Ltd is a family-run concrete pump hire business serving the North East of England, including County Durham, Teesside and surrounding areas. We work from Castle Close in Crook, County Durham — the original Bailey family yard.

With six concrete pumps ranging from 20 to 42 metres, we provide concrete pumping services for domestic and commercial construction projects. Every pump comes with one of our operators, and we are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Concrete pumps for construction and building projects

A boom pump places concrete exactly where it is needed — into foundations, onto slabs or over walls and roofs — so there is far less barrowing and the ready-mix wagon can stay on firm ground at the edge of the site.

Our customers include builders, contractors and homeowners. Typical work ranges from house foundations, footings and extensions to new-build homes, commercial construction and larger-volume pours.

  • Residential concrete pump hire, including foundations, footings and extensions
  • Commercial concrete pumping for larger building projects
  • Large concrete pours, subject to pump selection and site requirements
  • Restricted-access sites where positioning needs careful planning

Additional pipework for restricted-access areas

Not every pour can be reached by the boom alone. Our pumps carry additional pipework to help reach difficult or restricted-access areas, such as rear gardens, enclosed courtyards and areas behind existing buildings.

Tell us about any access restrictions when you enquire. Photos or drawings of the site help us plan where the pump should set up and whether pipework will be needed.

Concrete pump hire only

We hire out concrete pumps with an operator. We do not supply concrete — you order your ready-mixed concrete from the supplier of your choice, and we pump it into place.

A family business with roots in Crook

The Bailey name in Crook goes back to Bailey Bros Haulage, run by brothers Brian and John Bailey in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1986 Bailey Concrete Pumping began a new chapter, building on that haulage heritage.

Today, father and son Brian and Justin Bailey run the business — still family-run, still based in Crook and still operating from the original Castle Close yard.

Common questions

Do you supply the concrete?

No. Bailey Concrete Pumping Ltd provides concrete pump hire only. You arrange your own concrete supply and delivery, and we pump it.

Which pump do I need?

It depends on how far the concrete has to travel, the site layout and where the pump can safely set up. Send us the details through the quote form — you can attach photos or drawings — and we will advise on a suitable pump.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Crook and cover the North East of England, including County Durham, Darlington and Teesside, as well as Cumbria and the Scottish Borders. If your site is elsewhere, call us and ask.

Can you pump concrete into a site with restricted access?

Often, yes. Our pumps carry additional pipework to help reach difficult or restricted-access areas. Tell us about the access when you enquire so we can plan the set-up.
